In these times of increasing control by our governments and the private sector, where poverty is becoming more and more prevalent, it is important to start communities where people support each other. Whether this is a virtual or physical community, it is important to connect with each other.
Every human being has the right to a decent standard of living. That means a roof over their heads, warmth, nutritious food, a natural environment with clean soil, clean water and clean air. Not to mention a nurturing social environment and healthcare.

In our current world, we see an absence of many of these aspects. Our soil is polluted with chemicals, our water is far from clean, and the air we breathe is full of toxic chemicals, and so on. We are being poisoned.

There is a tendency to globalise everything and create a technocratic totalitarian world order in which the average person is merely a pawn in the game of the elites. Democracy no longer exists; there is no longer a voice of the people. Technology is being used against us, the people. Scarcity and fear are being created as a means of control.

We want this positive future for every living being, human or otherwise. To be able to breathe clean air, drink pure water, eat nutritious food and be free. I think the answer to this trend of globalisation is localisation, moving towards local communities that are more or less autonomous. Contrary to what we are taught (control through the illusion of scarcity), there is enough of everything in this world, but it is very unevenly distributed. There will be enormous interdependence between communities, and this requires high-level communication and interaction.

Communities are collectives of people with a common goal. A forest is a collective of living beings that constantly support each other (see: The Hidden Life of Trees). You could say that their goal is to continue life and evolve. That is how nature is programmed.

For me, “acting compassionately” means caring for one another. Just like in a forest, plants support others that are experiencing difficulties.

In our highly individualistic societies, many have forgotten this. Our neighbours are often anonymous; we do not know them, except for the occasional “good morning” or “how are you” without waiting for a reply. In essence, this is not our nature; we are caring and loving beings!

Within communities, we can return to our caring and loving origins, but this requires some deprogramming. Our programming comes from the institutions that have shaped our societies over thousands of years and from other forces such as advertising, not to mention our upbringing.

Our parents and carers (and many generations before them) were also programmed and passed it on to us, without us being aware of it. It is important to understand that they did their best! It is not their fault. It is our job to deal with the damage and heal, so that the programming stops with this generation of people.

In essence, we are already part of a community, the global community of Humans. We are connected to each other, but most of us have lost the ability to feel that connection.

It is time to restore our interconnections in local communities, where we can care for and support each other out of pure love, the beings that we are.
